The Regimental Museum in Stirling Castle

Stirling Castle, Scotland

These pages are about the Regimental Museum which is in the King's Old Building of Stirling Castle. It is one of the most fascinating museums in Scotland with displays which include Pictures, Uniforms, Weapons, Silver, Documents, Dioramas, Colours, Pipe banners, Medals and Militaria. It is enjoyable for young and old.

Entry to the Museum is free but visitors have to pay an entrance fee to the Castle which is maintained by Historic Scotland. As none of the entry fee is passed on to the Regiment it relies entirely on Voluntary Donations to maintain and improve the Museum, so please give as generously as you can.

The Museum at Stirling Castle, Scotland Soldier

The Museum itself is arranged in 8 rooms and tells the story of the Regiment from the first muster of the 91st under Stirling Castle's walls in 1794 (illustrated top right) to the present day.

These pages also trace the story of the Regiment and illustrate some of its historical treasures. They are designed as an educational resource as well as an encouragement to visit the Museum when you are in Stirling!
