Close to Banlicken is another northern ferry link to The Mull of Kintyre that offers easy day trips to Campbeltown (Springbank Distillery - Scotlands most authentic and traditional) and to the islands of Gigha (wonderful gardens) and Bute (Marquess of Butes fantastic castle at Mountstuart), and to Oban.
Longer trips are easy to islands such as Islay (malt whisky heaven), while Arran itself has world famous hill walking (Goat Fell) and Brodick Castle.

Drive to Tayinloan for 11am ferry to Gigha arriving at 11.20. Visit island and Achamore Gardens . Depart Gigha 5.30pm to catch ferry for Lochranza (Arran) arriving on Arran at 7.30pm and returning to Banlicken for 8pm. This would allow 6 hours on Gigha. |
