Ardlebank Cottage Across from Ardlebank Cottage

Ardlebank Cottage,
Bridge of Cally
nr Blairgowrie

Sleeps 4 (5)

The river Ardle flows along the quiet glen of Strathardle between Bridge of Cally and Kirkmichael in Highland Perthshire. This area of beautiful countryside has the advantage of being not too isolated and, at the same time, of being within easy striking distance of the Glenshee ski resort.

Ardlebank Cottage is a traditional whitewashed cottage situated about 2 miles from Bridge of Cally (hotel), set within its own enclosed garden and with plenty of parking space. From its position at the side of a quiet country road it has beautiful views across to the hills while, at the back, cattle graze in peace. The cottage has been refurbished with care: the light and very comfortable interior is enhanced by double glazing throughout, an open fire and electric heating. There are two single bedrooms and one double, perfect for a family or a small group.

Ardlebank Cottage Behind Ardlebank Cottage

The farm can organize fishing and walking enthusiasts only have to step outside to be in the hills. There are quite a few Munros in adjacent glens and Ben Vrackie is only 15 miles away near Pitlochry. The Cateran Trail passes through the village of Kirkmichael (4m) where you'll find a shop and three hotels serving food.

The little town of Pitlochry (all facilities) is a popular tourist destination, famous for its Festival Theatre, fish ladder and Scotland's oldest distillery at Edradour. Beyond Pitlochry there is a wide choice of scenic delights: Loch Rannoch and Loch Tummel; north on the fast A9 to the Cairngorms or south to Dunkeld and Perth. In a different direction Blairgowrie also offers all facilities including the renowned Rosemount golf course, while nearby Alyth actually has four different courses. From there it is a quick trip to the seaside at Carnoustie (yet another prestigious golf course!) or Arbroath where you can treat yourselves to the delicious 'smokies' (smoked herring), a local speciality.

Bridge of Cally is also on the way to Braemar. Continue past Glenshee and within an hour you will be at Royal Deeside.

Bed linen, towels and the first £15 of electricity are included!included in the rental. One well-behaved dog by arrangement (sorry no cats). Smoking is not permitted in the cottage. Private water supply.
