Clan Cottage, originally built around 150 years ago as the home of the ferryman for Loch Shiel, is now a lovely home-from-home sheltered in amongst the Pine trees and within 100 yards or so of Loch Shiel and its magnificent backdrop.
Situated in the crofting area of Moss on the West Coast of Scotland it is ideally situated to explore the Ardnamurchan peninsula. The thriving village of Acharacle one mile away offers all of the usual facilities and the major tourist centre of Fort William can be reached in under an hour's drive.
Though built a long time ago, the property has been extended and modified to provide an attractive and welcoming holiday home full of character. Single storey, the entrance hallway opens onto a lovely and bright kitchen with dining area, though there is also a separate dining room which is styled to reflect its Scottish location. The spacious sitting room features a most unique fireplace with imitation electric stove. There are two bedrooms with the main bedroom boasting a stunning four-poster bed frame and en-suite shower room and a further twin bedroom with play-space annexed at the end. In addition are another shower room and utility room as well as secure storage for bikes etc. Outside, the garden is mainly lawn with mature shrubs and trees and is reached by a driveway shared with the neighbouring property.
The area is renowned for its beautiful coastline, superb scenery and its wealth of wildlife. Fishing is available on the loch (permits obtained at nearby Acharacle Post Office) with boats also for hire locally. Golf, hill walking and cycling are just some of the other activities enjoyed in the area. The Singing Sands (5.5 miles) and Ardtoe (4 miles) both offer a lovely sandy beach with the legendary Silver Sands of Morar (31 miles) also being within an easy drive too.
Take a trip to the popular town of Fort William where you can golf, shop, swim at the leisure centre or even climb Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain. Alternatively, sample the fine links course at Traigh or from Mallaig take the ferry across to the Isle of Skye for the day.
To the southwest, you can make for Ardnamurchan Point, the westernmost point of mainland Britain, with its Stevenson Lighthouse. There is another lovely beach there at Sanna Bay.
