Cnoc Mor
Bunessan
Isle of Mull
Scotland

Sleeping 8

The Hebridean isle of Mull has long been a favourite holiday destination and we are so pleased to have yet another excellent property to offer here. Cnoc Mor is an attractive, spacious and most comfortable house which has a splendid situation in the Ross of Mull (that's the bottom left hand corner to the uninitiated) in the scattered hamlet of Ardtun, just 2 miles from Bunessan (shop, hotel) and very well placed for visiting the magical island of Iona. It has expansive views across Loch na Lachiach to the area on Mull known as The Wilderness.

Inside, the owners have made a superb job of furnishing and equipping it to the highest standards, while double glazing and excellent insulation, oil-CH and a wood burning stove in the living room ensure it is cosy all year round. There are two double and two twin bedrooms and two bathrooms (one downstairs).

This area of Mull is well known for its quiet coves and sandy beaches. From Fionnphort, which is where you will take the little foot ferry to Iona, you can also take other boat trips to view the basking seals or the seabird colonies on the Treshnish islands. There are many coastal walks to enjoy - to the south of Fionnphort you will find Erraid, where David Balfour, the hero of 'Kidnapped', thought he was marooned and starving to death until a local kindly informed him he could wade across at low tide!

It is well worth heading back east along the single track road to visit Duart Castle. Or you can head north up the west coast of the island past Ulva, to Gruline (riding) and even the marvellous beach at Calgary. Tobermory, the 'capital' of the island with its colourful houses clustering round the harbour, should also not be missed.
