Sleeping 6 (7)
On the hillside above the picturesque village of Kenmore at the eastern end of Loch Tay in Highland Perthshire, is Drumcroy Cottage, a solid, traditional, semi-detached stone cottage with an enclosed garden (furniture) to the front and magnificent views over the valley below.
It is reached by a quiet country lane from the main A827 from Aberfeldy and has plenty of parking behind it. Inside, the accommodation is stylish, spacious and comfortable, the cosy sitting room with open fire, a bright and well-fitted dining kitchen and a conservatory from which the views can be enjoyed whatever the weather. The downstairs double bedroom has an en suite shower while upstairs are two further bedrooms and family bathroom.
Kenmore (hotel, shops, cafes, golf course, marina) is within walking distance. It is one of Scotland's prettiest villages and a great starting point for excursions in all directions. While in the village itself, visit the reconstructed Iron Age crannog in the loch and maybe even learn some Iron Age crafts! Walkers can tackle Ben Lawers or head over the pass to beautiful Loch Rannoch, Loch Tummel and Schiehallion. Within half an hour or so you can be back on the A9 heading for Aviemore, the Cairngorms or Inverness, or you can strike westwards via Killin to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs or the west coast at Oban. All are accessible in a day and you can return in the evening to the comforts of Drumcroy.
Heating is by electricity (£15 included) and open fire. Bed linen is included and towels may be hired. Sorry, pets are not accepted and smoking is not permitted in the cottage.
