Duncaan Cottage,
Duirinish, Kyle,
Ross-shire
Sleeping 2
This charming traditional cottage has a peaceful setting in the crofting hamlet of Duirinish - one mile from the sea, and just two miles from the lovely village of Plockton with its shops, pubs, palm trees and boating facilities - the picturesque location of 'Hamish Macbeth'.
It is one of a tiny group of Highland cottages next to the Allt Duirinish burn which Highland cows frequently visit, at the foot of low hills (ideal for walking) whence you can see expansive views and breathtaking sunsets over Raasay and the Cuillin Hills of Skye.
At the end of a non-through road, 4 miles north of Kyle of Lochalsh (more shops, hotels and bridge to Skye), it is in that gorgeous stretch of Scotland's north-west coast between Loch Alsh to the south and the mountains of Torridon to the north that offers wonderful walking and sailing, fishing and seal watching trips, and has excellent opportunities of touring on Skye and to such famous places as Eilean Donan Castle, Applecross, Ullapool, and the gardens at Inverewe, etc.
