Eagles Nest View from Eagles Nest

Eagles Nest,
Yarrow Valley

Sleeps 4 – Pet friendly

Eagles Nest stands half a mile from the B709 which links Innerleithen (7m) to St Mary's Loch (5m) and is not far from the thriving little town of Peebles (Hydro, shops, restaurants etc.). The track leading to the house can be easily driven with care except in very bad wintry conditions when a 4x4 is recommended. The house is south facing and sits within its own half-acre garden (furniture and BBQ). Cyclists will be pleased to learn that World Class mountain biking is available at Innerleithen and Glentress, less than 10 miles away.

This part of the Scottish Borders remains relatively undiscovered although it is ideal for people who love walking, biking, fishing, sailing or who just wish to escape from the modern world. You can also explore it by car along peaceful country roads which link the small Border towns. Its many attractions include Traquair House, the oldest inhabited house in Scotland; cashmere and woollen mills; the Border Abbeys and Sir Walter Scott's beautiful home 'Abbotsford'. All are within easy reach. In fact, Sir Walter Scott is reputed to have been almost a 'regular' at the Gordon Arms Hotel/Pub which is about a mile from the cottage. Edinburgh is about an hour's drive away and Glasgow about an hour and a half.

Heating is by oil-fired CH and wood-burning stove. Bed-linen and towels are available for hire. Pets are welcome but MUST be kept under strict control since this is a working farm with sheep and cattle.
