Near Lochgilphead
Argyll

Sleeps 2 or 3

Gariob Beag is situated about 7 miles west of Lochgilphead in Argyll. Once a stone barn used for threshing corn it has now been completely transformed into a comfortable, well-appointed holiday cottage which you will be loath to leave at the end of your holiday. The cottage is detached and stands on a slight rise within its own large garden, a feature of which is the grassy mound covering the old horse-gang, the area circled continuously by the horses as they ground the corn in bygone days. This is an area well known for its remarkable natural beauty – only 4 miles from Crinan and 6 miles from Tayvallich, with breathtaking views of the magnificent west coast countryside bordering Loch Sween.

Visitors comment on how quiet and peaceful the cottage is. Nature-lovers will be delighted at the opportunities for walking, cycling or driving along the many small roads and paths that criss-cross the at times wooded, at times rocky mountains which rise above the spectacular coastline. Scottish Natural Heritage is responsible for the care of all the ruined castles, chapels, ancient crosses and standing-stones which date from pre-historic times and which attract historians of all ages.

Keen-eyed birdwatchers will observe ospreys and even golden eagles soaring above while below there are many other small birds to see including the cheeky bullfinches as they raid the fruit trees in the owner's nearby garden... (theres never any left for him!).

Within 15 miles you can go horse-riding, play golf, bask on fabulous white sands or enjoy the fare at several good restaurants.

Heating by electric central-heating (£10 worth included!included), and wood-burning stove (supply of logs included!included). Bed-linen and towels are included!included. Pets by arrangement. Smoking is not allowed within the house.
