Arivegaig is a small crofting community at the end of a single track road across the moss, about three miles from Acharacle on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula in the west of Scotland. The houses of this hamlet are dotted about the hills surrounding Kentra Bay, home of the famous Singing Sands and Ardtoe Beach.

This is a perfect holiday location and Kentra Cottage is an excellent though and comfortable holiday home. A charming, traditional, whitewashed cottage, it stands on its own within its private garden (furniture) which has been laid to flower beds and lawns. Inside, it has been modernised and furnished with care. The sitting room has a multi-fuel stove, there is a dining kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom.

As there is no traffic here children and pets can play in safety. (There is a small drainage channel in the garden so please keep an eye on toddlers). You can enjoy wonderful walks around the bay to the beach or in the surrounding hills. However, you are not completely isolated. Fort William is only an hour away by car and here you can shop, play golf, swim at the leisure centre or, if you are looking for a challenge, climb Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain.

Should you head for the north west it will take you even less time to reach Morar's famous white sands, play golf on the excellent links course at Traigh or be in Mallaig where the ferry will carry you over to Skye for the day.

Going southwest you will arrive at Ardnamurchan Point, the most westerly point of the British mainland, and the site of a Stevenson Lighthouse. At Sanna Bay there is yet another beautiful beach. En route you go through Kilchoan where, in summer, a car ferry sails back and forth to Tobermory on Mull.

Bed linen and the first £15 of oil central heating are included. Please note, towels are not available. Up to two well-behaved pets are welcome by arrangement. Smoking is not permitted in the cottage
