Kiltyrie Cottage
Loch Tay

Sleeping 4

Kiltyrie Cottage has been elegantly converted from an old farm steading into a smart and very comfortable holiday home in a superb setting on a hillside above Loch Tay with magnificent views over the loch to the Breadalbane hills beyond and only 5 miles from Killin in Highland Perthshire.

The owners, who live next door, have made every effort to help make your stay at Kiltyrie something to remember so the inside of the cottage is as impressive as its setting. The sitting room is large with two sets of French doors leading out to the front over the loch and the well fitted kitchen dining room is open plan to a roomy reception area. Upstairs, there are two good-sized bedrooms and a bathroom. A particularly charming feature is a Juliet balcony on the wide landing, again with a view over the loch, just the place to enjoy a quiet read or watch the play of light on the water.

The presence of a stairlift means that Kiltyrie is a property which can also be enjoyed by guests of more limited mobility.

Loch Tay is more than a picturesque spot: it is well known for its sporting activities and is very centrally located for touring in different directions. Apart from watersports the Loch has an Iron Age crannog at its eastern end in the pretty little village of Kenmore, something for the historically-minded. Kenmore and Killin have golf courses, there is horse riding down the road and hillwalkers have an enormous choice. Kiltyrie is actually on the lower slopes of Ben Lawers itself so you are well placed for the challenge of differing heights on your doorstep.

Killin lies within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and is only an hour and a half's drive away from Oban on the west coast. North east lies the Tay Forest Park, Aberfeldy (all facilities) and Pitlochry with its famous Festival Theatre. If lochs and mountains are what you want head over to Glen Lyon, Loch Tummel and Loch Rannoch. There are far too many things to see and do in only a week.

You will find a good choice of shops, pubs and restaurants in Killin.

Bed linen and towels, heating and electricity are all included!included in the rental. Well-behaved pets welcome by arrangement. Wi-Fi included, subject to provider. Sorry, no smoking in the cottage.
