Larkhill Cottage

Larkhill Cottage
near Lauder

Sleeping 6

Larkhill Cottage is a charming cottage, brand new but brimming with character, situated on the outskirts of the town of Lauder (all facilities) in the beautiful Scottish Borders. It stands detached and high up, south-facing and with panoramic views from the front over the enclosed garden to the distant hills. There are plenty of viewing points from picture windows, patio doors, decking areas and even balconies.

The inside is bright and spacious and delightfully furnished and appointed. There is a double bedroom suite with wet shower room downstairs, ideal for elderly or less surefooted guests, while upstairs there are another two bedrooms and a further bathroom. In one of these bedrooms a small balcony (with additional external stair) makes a perfect spot for starting the day in the sun with a morning cup of tea.

The view from Larkhill Cottage

The Lauder golf course is only a short stroll away and Lauder itself stands on the A68, a fast main road up to Edinburgh (just under an hour) and the famous courses of Muirfield and Luffness.

Larkhill Farm stands on the Southern Upland Way and there are excellent woodland walks on the farm itself. Riding and fishing are both popular activities in this part of the country and cyclists will wish to try out the world class mountain biking trails at Glentress, only a short drive from the cottage.

In such a historic region there is no shortage of ruined abbeys, stately homes or ancient castles to visit, the nearest of these being Thirlestane Castle in Lauder itself. The east coast is an hour's drive away and there you can enjoy the fine sandy beach at Coldingham or the dramatic cliffs at St Abbs.

Heating and electricity are included!£20 included. Bed linen is INCLUDED and towels maybe hired. One dog is welcome by arrangement (kennel facilities). Sorry, no smoking is allowed in the Cottage.
