Loch Lomond Lodge
Near Balloch

Sleeping 6

Loch Lomond is almost certainly one of Scotland's most popular tourist attractions. It is not difficult to see why, when you gaze at this magnificent loch and all its little islands surrounded by hills, among them towering Ben Lomond, and realize you are only half an hour away from Glasgow. There has been a lot of development on the west shore of the Loch so it is quite busy there whereas the eastern shore is much quieter and this is where you will find Loch Lomond Lodge right at the end of the little road which follows this shore. It couldn't have a better situation than here at the foot of Ben Lomond with wonderful views over the water.

The Lodge is one of a group of six pine lodges right beside the Loch and its 5-star level of comfort more than measures up to its remarkable setting. There is a large living area, a very well-fitted modern kitchen, two double bedrooms each with a king-sized bed and one with en suite shower, a twin bedroom with TV and play station, a bathroom with Jacuzzi and a separate sauna. Who could ask for more?

Outdoor enthusiasts will be out and up Ben Lomond in no time (no doubt thinking about the Jacuzzi afterwards!) Nearby Ben Vrackie and Beinn Urd are also good for hill-walking not to mention the West Highland Way which passes within a few hundred yards of the lodge. The loch has some splendid marinas or you can launch your boat directly from the shore outside (small charge). Golfers will find a course at Balloch, at the foot of the loch or they may care to try out the new Championship course (home for several years to the Scottish Open) on the west shore.

Visitors will doubtless wish to explore the beautiful Trossachs and the Lake of Menteith, made famous by Scott in his 'Lady of the Lake'. There is a good road at the foot of Loch Lomond which leads through Crianlarich to Oban and the west coast, or you can go via Tarbert and Arrochar over the Rest and Be Thankful to Loch Fyne and Inveraray. Anyone with the slightest interest in art or architecture will be keen to visit Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Hill House 20 miles away in Helensburgh. From Balloch, Glasgow is easy to reach either by car or train. It is a vibrant city with shops, restaurants, theatres, attractions and general places of interest to equal any European Citybreak destination. No matter what you do, you know that on your return to the Lodge you can chill out on the terrace sipping an evening drink as you admire the tranquil and beautiful view.

Bed linen, towels, heating and electricity are all included!included. Sorry, no pets and smoking is not permitted within the lodge.
