Raasay Lodge
Strontian
Argyll

Sleeping 5

Raasay Lodge is a Scandinavian log cabin in a spectacular setting looking out over Loch Sunart. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable and the tranquil location is perfect for those who wish to relax and unwind in one of the most beautiful areas on Scotland's famous west coast.

The house is snug and cosy in all weathers thanks to double glazing, electric heating and its south facing position. There is a large living area from which you can enjoy superb views over the loch; the kitchen is well-equipped and the three bedrooms will sleep 5 people. This is one of several cabins dotted about the hillside in its own natural environment and it is excellently sited about 100 yds from the shore of the loch.

Strontian is a delightful village, within walking distance and with shop s, cafe/bistro and hotels. This is a good base for exploring westwards along the loch towards Ardnamurchan point, the most westerly spot in mainland Britain, or north-westerly to the silver sands of Arisaig (38m) and Morar (links golf course), or to Mallaig (48m) where the Road to the Isles ends. Here, you can take the ferry for the 25 minute crossing to Skye and spend the day there. If you fancy more island-hopping you can head down to Lochaline (19m) and board the little car ferry across to Mull and from there visit Iona and Staffa.

If you need some retail therapy you are only 20 minutes from the Corran ferry (no booking necessary) and another short drive will land you in Fort William (all facilities, leisure centre, boat trips etc.).

There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen here: otters, deer, pine marten, buzzards and eagles. Walking enthusiasts will revel in the many fine walks in the hills behind the cabin and fishing can be arranged for those who wish.

The first £15 of electricity and bed linen are included!included and towels may be hired. Sorry pets are not accepted and smoking is not allowed in the lodge.
