Restless Winds

Restless Winds

Sleeps 4

Restless Winds is a superb modern house in traditional style which has a commanding position above the bay near the village of Portnalong in the west of Skye, with superb views out over Loch Harport and the Macleod's Tables and the Cuillins also visible from the driveway. The sunsets are amazing plus the months of March and October also offer the chance for seeing the incredible Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights).

It stands in its own large, neatly fenced garden with decking and patio areas to sit and take in the wonderful views with its wonderful position more than equalled by the comfort within. The house is light, airy and spacious and the stylish furnishings are of the highest quality. It is snug and cosy too, with gas-CH, a wood burner in the sitting room and an Aga (to be replaced by range cooker in 2016) in the beautifully fitted kitchen. There are two luxury bathrooms, each with bath (one whirlpool and one rolltop) and separate shower.

Carbost, with shop, pub and the world famous Talisker Whisky distillery, is only 3 miles away. On this side of the island you have Dunvegan, with its famous castle and Coral Beaches, and the capital, Portree is around 17 miles up the road. Additionally on the island, you can climb in the Cuillins or, less strenuously, walk up the Tables you can see from the cottage. Look out, too, for sea eagles in the skies above or take boat trips to view the teeming marine life around the shores. The cottage is centrally situated for guests to enjoy all the many attractions of this most enchanting and atmospheric of islands.

Heating is by gas CH (included) and wood burning stove (basket of logs included). Bed linen, towels and electricity are all included!included. Sorry, pets are not accepted and smoking is not permitted in the cottage. Wi-Fi available, subject to provider.
