Morningside is like a village within Edinburgh, with excellent restaurants, an historical pub, and just 10 to 15 minutes from Princes Street and the Castle. Although built in 1863 and named in honour of Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert, the terrace is perfectly Georgian in style. Each house has a garden to front and back, and on each end a heron stands above the roof balustrade. Clarissa Notley is an American who has adopted Edinburgh and Scotland as her home. She welcomes guests to stay for bed and breakfast at Number 1, a quiet 'home from home' with a beautiful garden and a peaceful atmosphere. Clarissa has a background in the theatre and an interest in the arts, and is very happy to advise about where to visit and what to see in Edinburgh - and good places to eat! |

Right; There is metered parking in the street outside 1 Albert Terrace; but at weekends there is no charge for this same parking. Buses are regular to the centre of town, and there are restaurants and eating places within walking distance. |

Clarissa can prepare anything from Continental or cooked breakfasts to Blueberry Pancakes. Good coffee and teas, a large and varied menu, much is homemade, and special diets can be catered for with advance warning. |
