Linda and Sandy McAulay's bed and breakfast guest house is very convenient whether you are visiting Edinburgh for business or pleasure (or both...) It is about half way between Edinburgh Airport and the city centre and has free off-street parking. There is a fast Freeway bus service just outside (every 5 mins) taking 12 minutes to Princes Street. Murrayfield is near by, and Edinburgh Zoo is just 400 yards away.

Braemar is fine Victorian house with a pretty garden of flowers and shrubs in front, good sized bedrooms and a handsome pine staircase leading to a light open landing from which the bedrooms radiate.

Linda and Sandy are very welcoming and everyone enjoys staying here. They are both trained teachers, and are both keen on walking and the outdoors - and very pleased to help with advice about touring the Highlands and travelling around Scotland generally, and of course Edinburgh itself.

There are 5 comfortable bedrooms. Four have shower-rooms en suite, and there's a twin bedroom with a private bathroom a few steps away (the original bathroom for the house with a bathtub).

The magnificent staircase is classic Edinburgh Victorian from the 1870's.

The bedrooms are upstairs, and each room has tea and coffee making facilities and a television, radio clock alarm and hair-dryer.

Cold meats, cheese, fruit and oatcakes.

£28 to £35 per person per night based on two people sharing a room, and including breakfast.

Prices depend on room occupancy and the time of year.

Discounts may be available during off-season periods.
