Castle View Apartment
69 Inverleith Row
Edinburgh
Scotland

A comfortable bright apartment for 5 or 6

This family-sized apartment is on the second (US third) floor with access by that marvel of Edinburgh Georgian engineering: a shared, stone "pen-checked" stairs. You can see the main sitting room window in the middle window in the photograph, and the other windows to the left of it. The view looks down the Row with Edinburgh Castle on the horizon.

Castle View Apartment is close to the entrance of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. It is one of the world's truly great recreational spaces and Edinburgh folk really appreciate wandering around its beautiful landscape among rare trees and shrubs.

Buses stop just a few yards up the road, and Inverleith Row is one of Edinburgh's main bus routes to the city centre. But you may prefer to walk (about 30 minutes to Princes Street), and there also fantastic walks and cycle tracks along the Water of Leith through parks and woodland, with access just a minute's walk away.

Just below the apartment is a café restaurant and others at the bottom of the road, and shops for provisions in Inverleith Row as well.

Somehow a simple walk in the park becomes a far richer experience for the extraordinary diversity of exotic tree shapes, folliage and colour. And there is a café for lunch, hot-houses with tropical plants, an orchid and cycad house, palm house, a world famous rock-garden - and entrance is free!
