In a row of traditional shops, sandwiched between two bookstores, the entrance to Cordiner's Land (the green door in the photograph above) goes through to an open space of trees and shrubs and stairways to apartments. On the the top floor is Number 23. It has one living room window facing onto West Port and the rest of the apartment has small balcony windows facing south across to the tall windows and red sandstone of Edinburgh College of Art.
The photograph on the right shows the two blue top windows of Number 23 and the towering fortifications of Edinburgh Castle behind. The building on the left is Evolution House, ECA, School of Arts, Culture and Environment. The car park is private parking for Edinburgh College of Art; the apartment has no parking space but there is metered parking nearby or NCP car park about 300 yards away at Castle Terrace.
Grassmarket, a lively square of shops, pubs and restaurants, is 150 yards down the street, and from there you can climb up to Edinburgh Castle, part of which you can glimpse from the living room window. Being so central, this is an ideal place to stay and it's easy to walk to the Royal Mile, Princes Street and Edinburgh University, as you can see from the map below.
The living room has a sofa, coffee table and two comfortable chairs. There is also a TV with over 90 cable TV channels.
There is an air bed for two people, which can be put up in the living room so that the apartment can sleep four.
The door at the end goes through to the double bedroom, bathroom and entrance hall,
Wooden floors here and in the kitchen/dining room.

The apartment has free broadband wi-fi internet access for your laptop. You can see the table for a computer, and its chair, on the left.
From the window on the right you can glimpse Edinburgh Castle towering above, and look down into West Port.

The bedroom has a chest of drawers, and is carpeted.
The bedroom is quiet, away from the street and south facing.
The bathroom has a bath with shower over, basin and wc.

- Air-dryer for clothes
- Kitchen ware
Sleeping up to 4 (double bed in bedroom and there is a blow-up air bed available for the living room):
Prices range between £350 and £790 per week, depending on the season.
Shorter and longer stays possible. Bookings available for any number of days, and starting on any day of the week.
Prices are inclusive of heating, lighting, bed linen and towels.
No smoking in the apartment, and no pets please.
