Bed and breakfast accommodation in central Edinburgh
Close to Edinburgh International Conference Centre
Princes Street and Gallery of Modern Art
17 Glencairn Crescent
Edinburgh
Scotland
Glencairn Crescent was built by the great Victorian Scottish architects Peddie and Kinnear in 1869 a few minutes' walk from the west of Princes Street. Lynda and Richard Dodds and their young family live at Number 17 and have set aside one grand bedroom with its own shower-room for guests to stay for bed and breakfast. It is quiet, peaceful and comfortable, with big windows overlooking their garden, and because it is on the ground floor the front door, bedroom, bathroom and breakfast room are all on one level.
This a quiet residential area less than 10 minutes' level walking from Princes Street (past the magnificent St Mary's Cathedral, 1874-1917, by Giles Gilbert-Scott), very close (5 minutes) to the Dean Gallery and Museum of Modern Art and very convenient if you are attending the International Conference Centre. The crescent faces private gardens to which guests are given a key.
Right; The white door is Number 17, five steps up from the pavement.
