6 Leopold Place
Edinburgh
Scotland
Just round the corner from Leith Walk and the wonderful Italian shop and restaurant Valvona and Crolla and less than five minutes' walk from the East end of Princes Street this is a fine Georgian terrace dating from 1820.
Philip and Glynn welcome guests to stay for bed and breakfast at their first floor apartment, and have set aside a quiet bedroom and shower-room at the back which like the whole apartment is calmly and harmoniously decorated, with interesting and inspiring contemporary paintings and prints.
This is the sunny side of the street. In the morning the room in which you have breakfast is flooded with light and the view is of Edinburgh's iconic late 18th century Observatory atop the wooded slopes of Calton Hill. It's a short bracing walk up the hill to one of the best views of the city stretching away to surrounding hills and the Firth of Forth.
