Part of one of the finest Georgian developments in Edinburgh, Moray Place has twelve fronts surrounding circular private gardens. It was built in the first part of the 1800's as part of Edinburgh's New Town. Number 11 faces south west and is the home of Florence and Jim Shanks who welcome guests to stay for bed and breakfast in this spacious family house.
Guests may borrow the key for Lord Moray's Pleasure Garden (17 acres of garden overlooking the Water of Leith). There is a delightful 20 minute walk through these Gardens along the river and on through Dean Village to the Gallery of Modern Art.
Florence is very knowledgeable about Edinburgh and is happy help guests with general orientation and ideas about what to see where to go, and Jim is excellent on Scottish history. They both speak French. Moray Place is only a short walk to Princes Street and the shops, The Castle, museums and galleries, restaurants.

All the Bedrooms are flexible and can become either twin (2 x single beds) or double bedded.
The Suite can have an extra bed added making it ideal for three.

Both these bedrooms have views of the sweep of the facade of Moray Place and the Resident's private gardens.

All rooms have Televisions, a variety of reading matter, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities, with fine teas and herbal infusions. Wi-Fi internet broadband is available for your laptop.
Breakfast:

Breakfast is served in the Dining Room (Right)
Orange, cranberry, or tomato juice, grapefruit segments.
Porridge, muesli, variety pack cereals.
Scottish cooked breakfast; haggis, sausage, black pudding, bacon, mushroom, tomato, fish, smoked haddock, kippers, omelette, cheese, tomato, mushroom, eggs poached boiled or scambled, toast, white, or brown, oatcakes, marmalade, honey, butter, anti-cholesterol spread, tea, coffee, decaffeinated café, herbal infusions.
Tariff:
Prices range from £40 to £70 (depending on the season) per person per night, based on two people sharing a room and including breakfast.
Single occupancy of a double room is £70 to £90 per night.
Parking available opposite 11 Moray Place at £1.60 per hour for a maximum of 6 hours. Florence is happy to direct guests to all-day parking once they have unloaded their baggage.
No smoking and no pets please.
