Just around the corner from the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art is Norman and Elizabeth Henderson's family home where they welcome guests to stay for bed and breakfast.
Norman and Elizabeth are warm and welcoming hosts, they designed the house themselves and it is full of character with pine beams, and lots of books and pictures, comfortable and quiet for a good night's sleep and has a pretty garden where you can have breakfast in the summer. As a bonus, The Lodge is set back from the road with private off-street parking - a rare find in Edinburgh!
Through Dean Gallery gardens and past the Water of Leith you can walk to the West End of Princes Street in 15 minutes. On Queensferry Road buses are regular and plentiful, even at night, and there's also a less regular Gallery bus (free) to and from the centre of Edinburgh.
