If you are in Edinburgh and yearn to spend a day experiencing the wild mountainous country of the Scottish Highlands, Walkabout Scotland have daily expeditions that make it easy to do just that...

Paul Mason and Jon Haber both share a deep respect for the Scottish mountains, their ecology and beauty. Each week they run a full programme of all-inclusive hill walking expeditions to some of the most inspiring landscapes in Scotland, all within striking distance of Edinburgh.

You don't need to be an experienced hill walker - all tours are within the capabilities of moderately fit people.

Mondays - Ben Lawers 1140m (3997ft) - We start from about 400m up to Scotland's 10th highest mountain with stunning views over Loch Tay - a great introduction to Scottish mountain walking. (Distance 10km, 6.5 miles. Standard: moderate hill day.)

Wednesdays - Ben A'an 485 m (1450ft)- A fine and easy hill with a fantastic view over Loch Katrine in the heart of the Trossachs. (Distance 8km, 5 miles, Standard: easy hill day.)

Fridays - Ben Lomond 974m (3195ft) - A long and steady ascent of this famous mountain, overlooking Loch Lomond. (Distance 10.5km, 6.5 miles. Standard: moderate hill day.)

Saturdays - Saturday Specials! - A different tour each week to some of the most inspiring hillwalks in the Southern Highlands - from challenging mountain ascents and classic hills to some easier walks through our deep glens.

Pick up and transport from Edinburgh (or en route by arrangement)
Lunch on the hill
Equipment (rainjackets, boots, gloves, hats) can be provided if required
Qualified mountain leaders
Entertainment and excitement all day!
Each trip costs £40 (concessions available)
