Birkhill Castle is approached by a long drive through woodland and set in landscaped gardens on the shores of the Firth of Tay in Fife. It is the home of Siobhan and Alexander Dundee who welcome guests from all over the world to stay for dinner, bed and breakfast. Your party (minimum 8, maximum 20) will have exclusive use, and there are 10 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. This is very much a family home and you will feel immediately at ease and among friends.
The Castle is Georgian built on an earlier dwelling, and was enlarged in Victorian times. Its lovely grounds have both wild and formal gardens with rare trees and plants, a swimming pool (heated mid-May to Oct) in a beautiful 2.5 acre walled garden, a hard tennis court, and woodland walks down to a private pebbly beach - good for picnics. Or walk about a mile further up the coast to the picturesque ruins of Balmerino Abbey associated with Mary Queen of Scots - especially beautiful when the woodland floor is carpeted with bluebells in May.
And... if you are thinking of getting married in Scotland, Birkhill Castle would be a wonderful location for your wedding (ask Siobhan about weddings at Birkhill Castle).
Birkhill is centrally located for an estimated 60 golf courses all within an hours drive (St Andrews 13 miles, Carnoustie 20 miles). If your party is interested in visiting gardens, Siobhan can make arrangements for you to visit other gardens, both public and private, in the area.

Dinner is served in the magnificent Dining Room which has bow-windows overlooking the gardens.

Breakfast is served in the breakfast room next to the kitchen. Scrambled eggs, grilled tomatoes, etc, yoghurt, fruit, toast, tea and coffee.
