Glenshian
Newton-of-Beltrees
By Loch Winnoch
Renfrewshire
Scotland
The small quiet rural hamlet of Newton-of Beltrees is situated high on a hill with westerly views over Loch Winnoch and countryside, yet is only half an hour by car from the centre of Glasgow (and even less from the airport).
Aileen Biggart offers bed and breakfast accommodation at her home in the village, a charming 200 year old Georgian house surrounded by garden.
She is a qualified Scottish Tourist Guide (Blue Badge Guide), and used to be a guide at Glasgow's Burrell Collection. She would be happy to take you on tours as a driver guide.
Glenshian is not only an excellent base for visiting Glasgow and Ayrshire (Troon, Turnberry golf courses, etc.) but is also easy for visiting the Islands of Bute and Arran, Kintyre, Islay, Jura, and even Loch Lomond and the wild mountains and lochs of the Trossachs to the North.
