Gwen and Jake Scott warmly welcome guests to stay at their home The Glebe House - a former Manse set in secluded gardens overlooking the historic seaside town of North Berwick, half an hour east of Edinburgh.

It is beautifully decorated and furnished, comfortably stylish, with the air of a country house - a calming and elegant place to stay.

The beach is a two minute walk, as is the High Street with shops and restaurants. The Bass Rock, an important nesting site for sea birds, can be visited by boat from the Harbour, and the internationally renowned Scottish Seabird Centre is nearby.

There is a regular train service to Edinburgh city centre. Edinburgh airport is 40 minutes away. Golf lovers will already know there are 19 golf courses within 20 minutes of North Berwick, including Muirfield and Gullane, which are only 4 miles away.

Gwen cooks a delicious breakfast and is happy to cater for special diets.

Evening meals: The area is renowned for its good restaurants and the Scotts keep sample menus and can book tables for you if you wish.

Tariff:

£40 to £45 per person per night based on two people sharing a room, and including breakfast.

Closed for Christmas.

No smoking in the bedrooms please.

Children welcome. Sorry, no pets. Closed at Christmas and New Year.
