Jill and Johan Hensens have been welcoming bed and breakfast guests to Ancrum Craig for over 20 years.
All the rooms are spacious, comfortable, with great character, and all have en suite facilities. Over the years Ancrum Craig has become known far and wide for its exceptional tranquility, comfort and quality.
In the 1500s a simple dwelling with accommodation above and animal quarters below was built in the shelter of the crag face; it still stands among the outbuildings behind the house to this day. Ancrum Craig as we know it was first built in the 1700's as a simple Scottish Farmhouse. In the 1830s a Victorian East Wing was added, the whole house restyled and faced with local red sandstone. Around about the Hensens have created beautiful landscaped gardens, and there are really wonderful views across the Teviot Valley all the way to "The Cheviot" 30 miles away.
