Harden vale bed and breakfast Harden Vale

Sunnyside,
Ancrum,
near Jedburgh,
Scotland

The vicinity of St Cuthbert's Way* prompted Johan and Jill Hensens to set up their second Bed and Breakfast in Ancrum, offering good quality (and economical) accommodation.

Harden Vale, which has off road parking, is in the centre of this historic village overlooking the Village Green and its 16th century Market Cross. It is next to the village shop and 100 yards from the Cross Keys pub, which wins awards for its real ales. Both the Cross Keys pub, and the Simply Scottish in Jedburgh (4 miles), are especially recommended for evening meals. Just across the A68 is the Lothian Estate with the Harestanes visitors centre. From here you can make many walks over the estate, visit the gardens, etc.

* St Cuthberts Way: Harden Vale is 1 mile from Harestanes, at the end of the first leg of the 60 mile long distance footpath from Melrose to Holy Island, created to celebrate St Cuthbert, 7th century Bishop of Lindisfarne.
1/2 mile from the A68, the main tourist route from the south to Edinburgh.
Central to the Scottish Borders, ideal for exploring this beautiful undiscovered land.
(For the Hensens' other bed and breakfast see Ancrum Craig)
Since Jill and Johan do not live in Harden Vale the house is also suitable for rental for self-catering holidays. It has a fully equipped kitchen, and offers off street parking and a garden at the rear.
