The Byre Cottage is set in the midst of rolling green and fertile farmland about 30 minutes east of Edinburgh. Only 4 miles from the sea it's a perfect self-catering holiday cottage especially if you would like to visit Edinburgh and be in the countryside and near the seaside as well. If you're a family with children there are some amazing castles nearby, the Scottish Seabird Centre, trips to Bass Rock, beaches and lots of things to do. And golfers will already know that this area has some of the best golf in the world.
The cottage used actually to be a byre, part of a farm steading, and has been converted by Giles and Sarah Lundie to make an inspiring place to stay; ecologically conscious, it has oak floors, light airy open ceilings with beams, natural elm in the kitchen, a smart modern bathroom, and large comfortable beds. Outside, (see above) in the enclosed steading courtyard there's a West facing patio with barbeque.
Giles and Sarah and their young family live next door, on the right in the photograph (left), and so are on hand to welcome you and help with anything you might need while you are staying here.
