A welcoming family home

Georgina and Malcolm Leslie have recently taken on the family house, which has been in the Borthwick family since it was built in 1816 for John Borthwick, the 13th of Crookston. It was remodeled in 1864 and again in 1873.

Hall and stairs

Over the last 20 years further improvements have been made and most recently a biomass heating system has been installed so the house is very comfortable at all times of year.

Georgina and Malcolm live in the house with their two sons, two dogs and a cat and it is in this happy family home that you are welcome to stay for bed and breakfast.

Georgina's parents live in their own self- contained flat in the basement and can be found pottering around outside in the garden.

Surrounded by woodland and gardens above the valley of the Gala Water, Crookston House is reached by a long drive beginning with a gate lodge south of Heriot about 20 mile south of Edinburgh.

With easy access to Edinburgh and within 60 minutes of the world-famous golf courses of East Lothian, Crookston House is also well situated for exploring the wild Lammermuirs and the gentle hills and wooded valleys of the Scottish borders, its abbeys, castles and historic houses.

You will be sure of a warm welcome at Crookston House and when you arrive you'll be greeted with a cup of tea and home baking!
