Loch Tay House is perfectly positioned on a plateau above the loch, surrounded by inspiring highland scenery of forests and hills - and with wonderful views from balconies and big plate-glass windows.

It is 5 minutes from the pretty village of Killin (shops, hotels, restaurants) at the end of the loch, and has a path through gardens and terraced grounds down to the loch-side. It is cleverly sighted so that the holiday chalets below are completely hidden from its windows and gardens.

Around about is some of the best walking in Scotland, from gentle strolls through woodland to adventurous climbs up to the peaks of Schiehallion, Ben Lawers (3984ft) or Ben Chonzie. Also nearby are water sports, golf, riding, sailing, archery, mountain biking, salmon and trout fishing and, because it's just about the centre of Scotland, easy drives to Oban and the west coast, Callander and the Trossachs, Tummel and Loch Rannoch and Pitlochry, with its famous Festival Theatre. There's even a four star restaurant a couple of minutes walk away.

Accommodation:

Most of the room face south towards the loch. Four of the five bedrooms are on the ground floor and the living rooms are above to take advantage of the views.

Huge and fabulous sitting room (with a balcony and open fire) which runs the entire length of the house, and the Snug, a television room (TV/DVD) also with a balcony.
