However the independence of the Scottish Church and judiciary, and educational systems were preserved, and remain independent to this day.

On September 11th 1998 Scots voted for their own parliament again... It's now built, situated almost opposite the Palace of Holyrood House in the Royal Mile on the site of a brewery.
