England has a surface area of 50,320 square miles with a population of about 47 million... crowded, or what!
Most people live in the central belt around Glasgow and Edinburgh, but elsewhere there are vast tracts of land with no-one in sight. Parts of Scotland are known as the last Widerness in Europe.
