The Royal Scots Regimental Association, Objects:
The objects of the Association are:
- To preserve and encourage the Regimental spirit and to uphold the honour of the Regiment.
- To promote an interest in the Regiment.
- To extend sympathy and guidance to all in need who have served in the regiment and to their dependants who are in need.
Membership:
- Officers and Soldiers of all ranks who are Serving or who have Served in any unit of The Royal Scots are eligible for membership.
- The Association will be composed of a number of Sections, based either on geographical location or by unit function. Further Sections may be admitted as regulated and controlled by the General Committee.
- The General Committee is empowered to affiliate to the Association, other Associations or organisations of a similar nature, which have close links with the regiment or the Association; such affiliated Associations or organisations may not assume any rights to vote or right to allocation of funds.

- In special cases, Sections may elect "Associate Members", who have not served in the Regiment. In no case may Associate Membership exceed 10% of the total. Associate Members, shall pay normal subscriptions, but shall not have a vote.
- In addition, Ladies, be they wife or widow of a member, may be admitted as Licentiate Members, and shall pay normal subscriptions, but shall not have a vote.

Governance
The affairs of the Royal Scots Benevolent Society are governed by Trustees and all applications for financial assistance are considered by a Sub-Committee appointed by the Trustees.
Objects
The objects of the society shall be as follows:
- Name: The name of the Association (which under earlier constitutions has successively been "The Royal Scots War Emergency Fund", "The Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment) Association Benevolent Fund" and "The Royal Scots Benevolent Fund") shall be "The Royal Scots Benevolent Society" (hereinafter referred to as "the Society"), and the property administered by the Society shall be known as "The Royal Scots Benevolent Fund" (hereinafter referred to as "the Fund").
- Objects: The objects of the Society shall be as follows:
- to help to conserve the position, prestige and privileges of The Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment) (hereinafter referred to as "the Regiment") as the First Regiment of Foot and the Senior Regiment of the Line in the British Army;
- to provide financial assistance to persons serving in the Regiment in any rank (hereinafter referred to as "soldiers"), whose full-time service is about to end, to soldiers who are in part-time service and to former soldiers, to help them to obtain employment.
- to provide financial assistance or gifts in kind to present or former soldiers, their widows, children and other dependants, (being soldiers widows, children and dependants who are in distressed or needy circumstances).
- to provide financial assistance or gifts in kind to the fiancée and natural children of soldiers who have died while a serving member of the regiment, and who are in distressed or needy circumstances;
- to grant small pensions to former soldiers and their widows, being former soldiers or widows who are aged or infirm;
- to contribute to organisations of which former soldiers who are in distressed or needy circumstances have been or are likely to be beneficiaries;
- to provide loans to soldiers whose full-time service is about to end, to help them in purchasing their own home upon such terms and conditions as to repayment and security terms as shall be deemed appropriate by the Society.
How to Apply:
All applications for assistance should be addressed to the SSAFA Forces Help branch/Division nearest to the applicant's home. If in difficulty the nearest Royal British Legion office or Department of Social Security Office will assist.

A representative (Caseworker) from SSAFA Forces Help will make contact and will meet the applicant to determine the facts relating to the application for assistance.
A written report will then be submitted to the Secretary of The Royal Scots Benevolent Society for consideration by the Investigation Sub-Committee.
Once the case has been considered the decision will be referred back to the relevant SSAFA Forces Help Branch and advised what amount had been awarded and how the grant is to be used. Grants will not be paid directly to the applicant.

These will be gratefully received and acknowledged by the Trustees.
