ACTIVITIES

THE GROUNDS

Wine Glass Lawn and Avenue

The wine glass lawn is approx 200m x 50m and is a perfect setting for activities taking place in from the house as well as level area to erect marquee.

The tree lined grassed avenue is 3/4 mile in length and slopes gently down from the Bear Gates to the front of the house. Activities such as mini highland games and falconry displays have taken place here as well as pipe bands and jousting demonstrations.

Walled Garden

The old walled garden near the 1745 Cottage Restaurant is a perfect area for smaller activities and Bar-B-Q's and informal lunches. Marquees may be erected here and the garden can be hired for exclusive use outside house opening hours.

The Avenue Field

We have access to a large 16 acre field on the left of the main drive which can be used for clay pigeon shooting, quad bikes and other activities that require greater space. In addition a large part of the field is level and has been laid with hard core to make parking suitable in all weathers.

The Maze and Woodland Walks

The Maze and woodland areas are both suitable for team building exercises, treasure hunts and other activities. The woodlands lead to the River Tweed where trout and salmon fishing can be arranged in season.
