Mansefield House

2 miles over the hill from Loch Lomond is the village of Arrochar on the shores of Loch Long, and Mansefield House is situated on the edge of the village in a garden of lawn, trees and shrubs, and views across the loch to the spectacularly craggy Highland peaks of the Arrochar Alps.

The house is handsome Scottish Victorian, with large rooms, high ceilings, intricate cornices, and plenty of space. It has been decorated with great subtlety by owners Fiona and Tom Butcher who have spent a lot of care in restoring it so it is a comfortable and warm place to stay. Available for self-catering weekly rental it can accommodate up to 12 in 5 bedrooms, so it's ideal for a party or a family or two. Fiona and Tom live next door and so are on hand to welcome you and help if you need anything while you are here.

Arrochar is very central for exploring the west coast, with excursions to Loch Fyne sea food and oyster bar, Inveraray castle, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and wonderful walking and climbing, summer or winter. The house is 100 yards from the Village Inn (with traditional bar mentioned in the Good Beer Guide, and restaurant). The village shop is 2 minutes' walk away.
