Abercromby Place, a dignified Georgian terrace dating from the early 1800's, is one of the most central residential streets in Edinburgh, a leisurely five minutes' stroll from Princes Street.
Number 21b, the home of Gerald Della-Porta, is known as Gerald's Place amongst friends. It is reached through a wrought iron gate, down traditional stone steps to a small courtyard filled with shrub and flowering plants in pots.
This is a charming and informal place with lots of pictures, colour and objects, a cosy atmosphere, and a host who takes great pleasure in welcoming guests and helping to ensure they have a happy stay in Edinburgh.
