Instantly recognisable as an iconic part of Edinburgh's skyline, Ramsay Gardens is a magnificent late 18th Century series of buildings, described in The Buildings of Edinburgh (Pevsner) as "ultra-picturesque and colourful". It has an exuberant mix of Scots Baronial, Arts and Crafts and Georgian elements, with towers, heraldry, oriel windows and balconies. The apartment, Number 6, is in the octagonal part of the building which incorporates the original Ramsay Lodge built by the poet Alan Ramsay in 1740.

Almost everything of interest is easily accessible on foot from this extremely central location, and the apartment is available for self-catering rental with two bedrooms sleeping up to 4, with the option of a sofa-bed for an extra two.
