19, Windsor Street

Windsor Street, a quiet classical Georgian terrace in the heart of Edinburgh, was designed in 1822 by William Playfair, one of Scotland's greatest architects who excelled in bringing to Scottish Georgian architecture a sense of Classical Greece.

The house was bought by Deborah Galbraith and her family in l997 to provide a spacious, elegant family home. With only three previous owners since the house was built it had remained unchanged, in many respects, over the passing decades.

The lower ground floor has been converted to provide self catering rental accommodation for 4 people. Modernisation and decoration is contemporary, stylish, warm and comfortable while keeping the atmosphere of old Edinburgh. This is a wonderful opportunity to stay in a period Edinburgh home which is within walking distance of the major attractions of this great city.

Free lock-up parking is available in the private garage (with lighting) in the cobbled mews behind 19 Windsor Street apartment.

Extracts from the Visitors' Book:
