Myres Castle, setting in parkland

Set in beautiful gardens and 44 acres of parkland enclosed by a high stone wall, the castle is near the village of Auchtermuchty in Fife, about 40 minutes north of Edinburgh, convenient for Perth, the golf courses at St Andrews, Carnoustie, Ladybank and Gleneagles, and excursions to the Highlands.

This is a place you can feel instantly at home; the staff are friendly, the food exceptional, and the atmosphere a happy combination of grand and intimate.

The castle interior has the warm, light and welcoming atmosphere of a genuinely loved family home. Each bedroom has a special character and owners Jonathan and Jenny White have devoted care and attention to the interior decoration with luxurious fabrics, works of art and fascinating objects from the castle's historic past.

In the late 1500s Mary Queen of Scots would stay here at the castle or the nearby Palace of Falkland while hunting in The Kingdom of Fife.

The Dining Room (right) has bow windows overlooking the formal garden.

Every meal at Myres Castle is perfectly prepared, cooked and presented. Garden herbs and fresh vegetables Chef Christopher Trotter has a passion for the best traditions of Scottish food and uses fresh locally sourced ingredients and organic home produce, and the castle cellars are stocked with thoughtfully chosen wines.

The "Muchty Room", Myres Castle's Board Room, has a table and fourteen chairs American Walnut with Maplewood stringing and Myrtle Burr inlays, commissioned from David Linley.

Facilities include: conference telephone, modem, television and audio points and a discreetly hidden screen and points for slide, overhead and computer generated presentations. Flip charts, white boards etc. are also available.

There is a Heliport in the grounds.
