"Restaurant with Rooms"
One of the AA's Top 200 rated hotels,
with a menu menu built around the best local ingredients
brought to the door by artisan suppliers.

This is the place to come to for the experience of the best of Scottish cooking and the pleasurable enjoyment of good food and wine.
Originally a Coaching Inn dating from the 1700's, for over 30 years The Peat Inn has sustained a reputation for being one of the finest restaurants in Scotland. Head Chef Geoffrey Smeddle, who with his wife Katherine runs this Restaurant with Rooms, is admired by other chefs and the public alike as being one of the great upholders of the natural cuisine of Scotland.
Accommodation at the Residence:

After dinner you can retire to a bedroom suite in the superbly comfortable Residence just 25 yards from the restaurant.
The Residence provides accommodation in eight bedrooms around a private garden and looking over surrounding farmland.
Each suite has a double or twin Bedroom, seven of them connected by a small flight of stairs to its own Sitting Room, and one on one level.

Left; Cassia Sitting Room and Bedroom.
Right; Floribunda Sitting Room.
Each Sitting Room has a writing desk, television, games, fresh fruit and mineral water.

Left; Camelia Sitting Room and Bedroom.
Right; Floribunda Bedroom.
Each bedroom has direct dial telephone, radio/alarm clock and hair dryer, and also has a luxurious bathroom en suite with Italian marble, bath and shower, wc and basin.
The Restaurant:

There are three Dining Rooms and a Sitting Room with sofas and a big stone open fire. The atmosphere is refined but friendly and relaxed. All is dedicated to the unhurried and unpretentious enjoyment of good food and wine.
The Peat Inn is blessed with easy access to three sources of Scottish produce: game, beef and lamb from the Highlands, Fife has some of the best agricutural land in Britain, and the sea. Geoffrey (photograph, below left) always uses fresh produce, and he and his team produce good Scottish food with echoes of the Scottish/French friendship which dates back to the 15th century, the beginnings of the Auld Alliance.
