Rosanne and Iain MacKay welcome guests to stay for bed and breakfast at their home on their 400 acre farm close to Culloden Moor and about 6 miles from Inverness, the Capital of the Highlands. Its an ideal place to stay as a base for visiting Speyside, renowned for its multitude of whisky distilleries and gentle scenery, or the more dramatic west and north.
Leanach is a family run farm overlooking the Nairn Valley. The MacKays have Highland cattle, sheep and Border Collies. Iain competes in, and runs, sheep dog trials, and he can sometimes demonstrate to guests how his collies work with sheep.
Rosanne and Iain also have 1.5 miles of the River Nairn, so for those interested this is a chance to do some fishing close to home. The Visitor Centre at the site of the battle of Culloden is very close by, as are some Neolithic standing stones and cairns in the valley below.
