Plumbraes Barn
Ednam,
near Kelso,
Scotland
Maggie and Archie Stewart have converted this long barn on their farm above the River Eden in the valley of the River Tweed in the Scottish Borders. It now comprises three self catering holiday cottages, each with south facing views across beautiful rolling Border countryside.
You are welcome to play on the tennis court in the field below, and across the field is the River Eden, a tributary of the Tweed which it meets 2 miles away. The Eden is fenced off to encourage wildlife and is a haven to otters, kingfishers, deer and a myriad wild flowers.
This is a beautiful area, very central for exploring the old abbeys and castles of the Borders, or for taking children out on expeditions. Maggie and Archie know the Borders well and are always happy to advise on where to go and what to do.
All 3 cottages have:
- Free access to the tennis court
- Private garden area, Car parking
- TV, VCR and CD player.
- Breakfast and dinner sometimes available from the farmhouse.
- Guests' laundry with washing machine, dryer, iron and board.
- Garden Bank Cottage is wheel-chair friendly.
- Free range eggs, herb and tomatoes for sale in season.
- Strawberry and raspberry farm next door.
- Fishing on the river.
