Sue and Andrew Lindsay offer Bed and Breakfast and very warm welcome at Glenavon House their Victorian Scots Baronial home which is set in 3 acres of garden and grounds on the edge of the historic market town of Linlithgow.

Linlithgow is equidistant from both Edinburgh, Stirling and Glasgow with quick access to the main route to the Highlands, the A9. It is also on the main Edinburgh - Glasgow railway line (frequent trains with journey times of under 1/2 an hour). Stay at Glenavon House and leave your car at home!

In the very centre of the town is Linlithgow Palace, a magnificent ruin in a beautiful park beside Linlithgow Loch and beside 15th century St Michael's Parish Church (see AboutScotland article on Linlithgow). The Palace was the home of all the Stewart Kings of Scotland and is the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots. Linlithgow Loch is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) on account of its wildfowl. Linlithgow is the lively county town of West Lothian, a great place to shop and lots of pubs and good places to eat out.

Bed and Breakfast accommodation at Glenavon House consists of two bedrooms in the main part of the house and two further bedrooms in a separate apartment in the wing. The Lovell Suite and the Lindsay Suite in the main house are spacious double bedrooms with king-size beds, each with a very large adjoining bathroom en suite. The two double bedrooms in the wing share a bathroom, a sitting room and a little kitchen. The Apartment (not illustrated here), because it is secluded by an internal door from the main part of the house gives versatility and a bit of extra seclusion for families and groups of friends.

• Complementary sherry and home-made shortbread
• Tea and coffee making tray
• Hairdryer
• Complementary toileteries

Served in the dining room (right): a choice a full cooked Scottish breakfast or a lighter Continental style breakfast. All the ingredients are good quality and wherever possible local and organically produced. Sue is always happy to cater for any special dietry needs or requests if you give her some advance notice.
