Newholme
Stirling
Scotland
An ideal base for touring central Scotland
Newholme is on the edge of Stirling, between the centre (5 minutes drive or bus ride) and the village of Cambusbarron, a couple of minutes' walk away.
Secluded from the road by shrubs and tall hedges, it is set in its own well kept old-fashioned garden, with lawns, herbaceous borders, a sunken rose garden, and vegetable garden.
This is a much loved family home with a warm atmosphere that is both traditional and informal. Large sunny rooms have pictures, antiques and Persian rugs and objects of interest and there are plenty of books to read. With six bedrooms and two bathrooms the house can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people, and is an ideal base for a family or group of friends exploring the historical sites of central Scotland as well as wild and remote Highland landscape. In the autumn and winter, 3 night weekend breaks (- arrive to the log-fire burning and a complimentary bottle of wine) - are especially popular at Newholme.
Glasgow, Edinburgh and Perth are under an hour away by car (there's a railway station at Stirling too), as are Loch Lomond National Park, the Trossachs and Loch Katrine, even the east and west coasts.
