Archiestown Hotel & Restaurant
Archiestown
by Aberlour
Moray
Scotland
An established small Hotel and Restaurant with good food loved by fishermen and travellers alike.
This comfortable traditional Scottish hotel dating from the end of the 1700's, in the small quiet Speyside conservation village of Archiestown about an hour from Inverness, is owned and run by Jane and Alan Hunter who are passionate about good food and warm hospitality.
There are plenty of things to do in this part of north east Scotland;
This is the heart of Speyside Malt Whisky country, and using Archiestown as a base you can visit, taste and buy from dozens of unique distilleries on the Malt Whisky Trail, which links local distilleries open to the public.
There is also a great variety of local golf courses (22 within an hour's drive!), excellent shopping for cashmere woolens at Elgin, castles and historic houses, nature reserves (eg: the Cairngorms and Loch Garten Osprey Reserve), walking and climbing, hills and moorland walks such as the Speyside Way.
In the evening, returning to the hotel will be a pleasure; the food (and wine) is delicious and has a growing reputation... highly recommended!
